The programme at Spreepark Art Space thrives on exchange with artists, collectives, institutions, and collaborators from around the world. On the occasion of the exhibition A Place to Stayat Spreepark Art Space and the exhibition and public programme Metaxy : Between Destruction and Reconstruction at the Akademie der Künste, these diverse experiences and perspectives come together in a shared conversation. 

The panel explores the role of art at the intersection of participation, memory, and representation. It focuses on how artistic practices can open up new perspectives on urban space, challenge established narratives, and invite people to actively shape and reimagine the city.

Iván Argote challenges dominant narratives and explores the dynamics of public space and collective memory through sculptures, public installations, films, paintings, and performances.

María Fernanda Cardoso is an artist and former resident of Spreepark Art Space as part of the Animal Architecture Collective. She lives and works in Australia.

V. Mitch McEwan is an architect, author, and lecturer at the Princeton University School of Architecture, and is a contributor to the Metaxy project.

Rachel Kent is an art historian, curator, and Director of Bundanon Art Museum, Australia. Supported by the Fonds Anbahnung programme of WAYS – Towards Fair and Sustainable International Partnerships of the German Federal Cultural Foundation, Bundanon and Spreepark Art Space are currently developing new formats for collaboration.
 

The discussion follows the artist talk Radical Tenderness between Iván Argote and Anna Schneider (DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam).
